Currently drop rates are based solely on if a Pokemon can get the kill or "Last hit" on the wild NPC.

The problem with this system is that we have roles; Tank, Healer,and Dps. I'd like to ask how a healer who's meant to be in a party and not get kills is meant to farm eggs? Anything killed would go towards the dps and the majority of the time; they wouldn't give it to the healer.

Not going to lie; I thought drop rates were more party friendly then this seeing as the majority of the game requires a party,i figured the system was as if 3 people were in the party and your team killed the charmander, your team should be able to get the drop.. Not just you.
Having a drop system like we have now encourages not only team misplay by trying not to bring that "one pokemon" to 10% just because someone else might get the kill if you do,but also could cause a bad relationship within the community.


Doesn't seem very productive does it? My proposal; go with the team friendly way and make it fair for everyone.



Side note:
This System currently means that if you kill a charmander,it drops something,and if you die afterward,you'll still get the egg/drop, this should probably be "Fixed" As it seems like a free item.


Edit: As some people prefer the "Greed" Way..
Why not make it an option when you create a party? "Distribute" or "Greed"?

I'm against this idea, simply because it'd irritate me if I'm the one who is doing all the killing, and one of my kills loot goes to one of my team mates instead of me, and ironically it would probably be that one team mate who didn't do anything except run around in circles trying to not get pwnt.

Maybe bring in Party settings, The leader can have it set to distribute drops randomly to other team mates or alternatively they can have it set to whoever kills the pokemon gets the loot (and allow players to be able to check what the party rules are in their party menu, to see whether or not the leaders rules is okay for them)

For me the better idea is that the party leader can choose the party settings.

Can we try to expand on this idea, so you are saying, if 1 Egg drops, each player should have a way to say "I want this item" without the one who killed it actually handing it to them? Is this correct?

Sounds dumb to me. Who wouldn't want an egg. It isn't the leaders fault for you picking a supporter pokemon. If you want eggs as a supporter or tank you will just have to buy them. You can't split one egg with 3-4 people. I just don't see this idea working.

Why would you blame them for picking a supporting pokemon? We don't want to have 50 Lucarios on the server just because they don't want to share their loot with the guys tanking, healing, or using status afflictions so that you may actually beat an impossible Boss.

Edit: Ohhh I see what you did there, a voting system like if you want to participate in a roulette sharing to the announced loot? But that's not really necessary, a straight forward two-way automated distribution (share or don't share) system would do the job. Nice idea though, seen that on a mmo i use to play

Keeping in mind that this is all under the rules that the party leader set, like in opening posts edit. The two options you should be allowed to choose between should look like this:-

Greed
- Whoever gets the last hit or delivers the final blow to the wild Pokemon will get the loot from that wild Pokemon

Share
- When a player delivers the final blow to a Pokemon, the loot that has dropped from that Pokemon is then randomly distributed to one of the party members (of course including the person who killed it)

On a side note, regarding Quays post about "Who wouldn't want an egg." that kinda depends, least all i know is, I couldn't care less for any egg drops from 1st Town & 2nd Town, but yeah... I can't really see people using the "Share" option, maybe the minority who agreed with Yama, but yeah if party settings was to be added, no harm done, imo.

It really isn't even that. Supporters are to support the attackers that's their role , they heal and do their status effect sure. I didn't really have a supporter for any bosses. It was more like just type advantage and some good smart partners (3-4 man partys at that). I only really teamed up with Slayers and even then when we droped eggs it was whoever had killed it and if you wanted it you'd have to buy it unless you've been farming for it for days and the person who had it didn't need it.Also Lucario is a good pokemon but it isn't the only strong offensive pokemon , it's just a common one and most Lucario suck. There are Electivires and Raichus/Pikachus and a few other type of offensives out there. The thing is though the starters that are avaliable to you may not be the best and you could want a better pokemon. So when an egg drops when you're in a party and its potentially better than the character you have at the moment you jump for it. If that Snorlax guy saw a Houndour egg drop or something and he gets it i'm sure he wouldn't want to share it with his team.

I find the current system very difficult to complete loot-based quests with. I also find it very unfair for non-DPS Pokemon. I would like to see some improvements on this so that it is viable to choose -any- Pokemon that I want... not just Lucario so that I get all the loot.


The current system dramatically limits the amount of pokemon I am allowed to play for a fun and fair experience.
