I regret to announce that the PZ servers will be taken down indefinetly until the "rest" of the staff decides to come back on the project, as of this moment there is really no one working on the game and it renders difficult for a single person to take care of all that goes on the game.

No this doesn't mean the game is dead, to give an estimate it'll probably be down a few months time - hopefully we won't have to find a new host by then, because I really like our current one.

Damn, what a shame. I do hope that the staff comes back to continuing working on this very soon, because, arguably, this is the best Pokemon game available on BYOND. Others either lack the beautiful graphics of PZ or are just straight up too buggy to play, or rather just not as well made.

By the way... will our Pokemon still be there when the server gets revived? I'd hate to see all the hours I've put into training them and all the time I've spent in the dojo be all for nothing.

We usually never wipe, unless the players have been glitching, duping, bugging, power leveling, or any other sort of ingame abusing rather harshly.
So nah, sleep on it.

Ditto to what Npchunter said. Devoted players would definitely appreciate the game staying up even with the current update as is; we can entertain ourselves infinitely with the content already provided, so we can afford to wait a few months for a new update.

Maybe do a long term slight exp/drop rate increase for those who choose to remain behind? Give players who stick with it a better chance at improving gear if they got nothing else out of it

Does this mean we wont be able to play till the staff resumes? Are we even going to have any warning as to when you plan to take it down?

there is like 500+ active players and from those people who have done all quests are probably below 10 and not to forget now there are dojo point that adds alot more stuff to do

Figured I'd drop my two pence worth of a comment since everyone else is giving an opinion on the announcement. 

I think Zete may as well put the game down for awhile until the staff is back together, and working actively.

The game has pretty much died in the last two weeks n' all, a majority of the players have stopped playing. Imo, its probably to do with oblivious signs:- 

• Zete/Ken not logging into the game (or well personally haven't seen them on in a span of two weeks, anyways this alone causes quite a few problems).
  
• Saturday/Sunday events not happening (Not that its a MUST HAVE, but it seemed like a weekly active event until recently)
  

On a side note, think of the game like a horse. If a horse has a broken leg, the horse gets put down. (y'know, except in this case the horse will be miraculously revived later on)

Well, now that I really think about it... will this be a likely pattern for this game? Staff taking a few month breaks, working on the game for a new update, letting it live for a few months, taking it down because there's a lack of motivation to work on it, etc?

Just sayin' what's apparently obvious.

I still dont see the harm in letting the people who want to keep playing, keep playing. Not like more people wont find the game in the mean time. Then when things get going again we may end up with more players than before. J/s

BTW, if it really comes down to that there isn't anyone around to moderate the game consistently, I'm sure some of the devoted players would be willing to. Just give them limited GM powers only to deal with misbehaving players and let them run tournaments. As for who'd be good candidates, IDK. I myself volunteer since I'm online most of the time, but really I'd recommend whoever's most trustworthy, perhaps Nonentity or Npchunter.

If thats the only problem, then its very easily rectified. I can't think of or forsee any other problems with allowing the server to run it's course till the team gets back together. As for giving someone limited GM powers, it'd have to be someone Zete thinks could handle it responsibly. I don't know the way he thinks though, so I can't say as to who would be a good candidate.

As for the weekend Rates thing, why not just put it up till the updating continues? Or at least appoint a tourney master xD

Yeah, as long as someone's around to manage things or/and run tournaments, there's no reason why it can't keep going. Having a few people around to run tournaments consistently every weekend would keep the game pretty active.

Yea, some players come on just for tourneys. Although if it were too common the prizes would be none or reduced

So I guess this is it guys, the server is down. Dunno if I will see some of you guys next time the game is up, if it ever is. Guess we couldn't keep the server up with just the wishes of the players. Maybe the team won't be gone long, Or perhaps a secondary team will be formed, I don't know. Adios for now I guess.
