Not that this is a major deal as we don't really have any real reason/purpose of this in-game friends list right now, and I'd imagine that there are alternatives that people prefer to use to let them know of their friends presence on the net... e.g. Byond Pager, Skype.

But any ways, the in-game friends system seems kind of flawed. If you want to add a friend to your list, you add them, but if they make a new character using a new slot on that same key they used to make their previous character, you'll need to add this new character to your friends-list to see when they're online for both characters... and then it goes on.

So my friends-list could end up looking like this:-

Online
Saitoshi

Offline
SaitÔshi
Saitoshì

Is there a way the system could be modified a little bit so that maybe you add the users byond key to your friend list rather than the in-game character name, that way you'd see when they're on regardless of what character they're using

And a bit more further into that suggestion, having the friend-list identify which character your friend is using and putting that name against their online status, e.g:-

Online
Saitoshi (Nonentity)

Offline


and again if i was to use a different character

SaitÔshi (Nonentity)

Offline



Mhm, but anyways, I know its not a major aspect of the game, just the current friends-list mechanics seems flawed.

Also being able to tick on and off the "Offline" Tab would be nice, Idc for whos offline in my friend list tbh.

Possibly throw in something else exclusive for that friend-list...

If you click on a name in that friend-list of yours, a new little window appears that you can use to instant message (IM) that person and have your own little chat session that is not sharing with the whisper/say chat.

It'll be nice too, you can just drag the little window to the corner of your screen or somewhere out of the way, make it look tidy e.t.c. 

This business of talking to someone for like 5 minutes, (who by then should really be on my friends list if I can hold such a timely discussion with... like come on, 5 minutes, we may as well be married) clicking "w" and navigating to their name in-between each whisper does become a bit of a nuisance.

I agree using "w" for a whole conversation gets tedious... I just know I'll regret implementing an chatbox IM system everytime I log lol. 

But I actually had plans to eventually do this, as its a common feature in most MMOs I just put other priorities ahead of it and forgot about it.
