I did a quick forum search and nothing on this came up. I figure it deserves it's own topic so here we go..

Unfortunately I didn't get any screenshots (I just woke up, hopped on and was met with confusion) but I was running around in Beedrill's forest collecting some Paras Shrooms and I ran into a pokemon I couldn't see. It's icon was invisible, it was pretty fast and it only gave me 1 exp. When I defeated it though, I looked at the battle chat and it said that I had defeated a Missingno. Is there anything special with this or is it just a little easter egg for the kiddies to find, much like I did?

i confirm this bug, i saw it first in 3rd map beach but it seems to be everywhere, underwater, 3rd map forest

missingno is name for pokemon that doesnt have its info coded

for example: zete changes your pokemon into caterpie, it would have egg icon and its name would be missingno, since caterpie and its family isnt added ingame yet

I had noticed that two corphish that were partied with a Wartortle had turned to missingno at one point too
